Premier Die Casting Company – A Case For Reshoring

Recently, an LED lighting manufacturer that was buying aluminum die castings from Taiwan decided to investigate purchasing machined die castings in the US.

After their analysis the lighting company decided to buy the die casting ready for assembly from Premier Die Casting due to the following reasons:

  • No minimum quantity to order
  • No need to prepay the parts prior to shipment (6 weeks transport on ocean from Asia)
  • Less inventory to maintain at their plant
  • Flexibility in scheduling quantities as their demands varied
  • All these reasons contribute to reduced landed cost at their US facility, thus creating an economic advantage for US production.
