New forced labor legislation set to impact global supply chains worldwide
On February 24th, President Obama signed into law the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015. The new legislation, effective March 10th, now officially prohibits the importation of goods (materials, products, and components) produced by forced labor or child labor. Forced labor fuels $51 billion a year in profits in international trade. This new legislation highlights the critical importance of supply chain visibility.
