Free Book Signing by Reshoring and Manufacturing Policy Experts at FABTECH 2015
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Free Book Signing by Reshoring and Manufacturing Policy Experts at FABTECH 2015 Scott Paul and Harry Moser will join FABTECH 2015 to talk with you about the future of American manufacturing. Paul, president of the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), and Moser, founder of the Reshoring Initiative, call for manufacturing policy that shifts production back to the United States. FABTECH attendees are invited to visit AAM’s booth C-825 to talk with the authors and receive a copy of ReMaking America during the show. “Without more manufacturing, it will be virtually impossible to rebuild the middle class, reduce the trade deficit, or innovate the next amazing generation of products,” said Paul. “And smart observers have noted that the ‘race to the bottom’ isn’t the only way to compete in manufacturing. We know America will never win such a race, nor should it want to. On the other hand, America is very good at winning races to the top.”
Paul and Moser are co-authors of ReMaking America, AAM’s second volume of domestic manufacturing policy recommendations. Edited by award-winning journalist Richard McCormack, it demonstrates how American manufacturing can thrive and grow if U.S. lawmakers enact meaningful policy change now. “We can start the race to the top even under current policy. About 25% of the production that we have lost to offshore would come back now if companies used more sophisticated sourcing decision criteria. The Reshoring Initiative provides an online Total Cost of Ownership Estimator™ that is free for all users.”### ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Scott Paul, president of the Alliance for American Manufacturing, calls for manufacturing policy that garners broad public support and shifts economic policy back to favoring domestic production to create an America that is truly built to last. Harry Moser, founder of the Reshoring Initiative and retired President of Charmilles Technologies Corp., helps companies quantify the true costs of offshore production and bring manufacturing back.
