GE Appliances and Marlin Steel Wire Products Win 2025 National Metalworking Reshoring Awards
Chicago (September 11, 2025) — GE Appliances -a Haier company- and Marlin Steel Wire Products won the 2025 National Metalworking Reshoring Awards. The awards were given in recognition of both companies’ success in bringing manufacturing to the United States. The 8th annual award was presented on Sept. 11, 2025, at FABTECH at McCormick Place in Chicago by Harry Moser, founder and president of the Reshoring Initiative.
The award honors companies that have brought to North America the manufacture of products, parts, or tooling made primarily by metal forming, fabricating, casting, or machining, including additive manufacturing. The award is sponsored by: the Reshoring Initiative; the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA); AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology; SME; the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA); and the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA).
Bill Good, VP of Supply Chain, accepted the award on behalf of the 16,000 people who work at GE Appliances. “We are living in a resurgence of U.S. manufacturing, and I’m so thankful to be part of it. Since 2016, we’ve invested $3.5 billion in our U.S. manufacturing plants. This year, we committed another $3 billion over five years, bringing our total investment to $6.5 billion. This award is also for our over 6,500 suppliers — across all 50 states — who strengthen our supply chain. And, for our partners in government and communities, who’ve stood with us to make these investments possible. When we reshore jobs, we don’t just bring back production. We bring back pride. We bring back capabilities. And we bring back the belief that America can lead the world in making things again,” said Bill Good.
Moser noted: “GE Appliances won the award because of the consistency and success of their reshoring. Their reshoring investment and jobs created make them one of the largest of 7,000 known reshoring manufacturers.” Drew Greenblatt, owner and president, accepted the award on behalf of the 130 Marlin Steel and Madsen Steel workers spanning four states — Michigan, Indiana, Maryland and Massachusetts. “Our employees are creative and innovative, coming up with novel ideas to differentiate ourselves from overseas competitors who offer prices below what we pay for steel alone! Our commitment to quality, on-time delivery and extraordinary service is powering our growth. We literally trademarked Quality Engineering Quick because this is our north star to success. This is how USA factories can accelerate reshoring and bring millions of jobs back from overseas to the USA,” commented Drew Greenblatt.Moser added “Marlin won in recognition of their outstanding success demonstrating that automation, engineering, quality and delivery can enable reshoring, even of high-volume commoditized products.
